Hon. Judge Jessica M. Lorello
Judge Jessica M. Lorello is a fifth-generation Idahoan who graduated from Boise High School. She received a Master’s Degree in Health Care Administration and her Juris Doctorate degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. After law school, Judge Lorello worked in private practice at Givens Pursley LLP doing health care transactional work and general litigation until 2004, after which she joined the Criminal Law Division of the Idaho Attorney General’s Office where she served the State of Idaho as a member of the Appellate and Capital Litigation Units and occasionally litigated cases at the trial level.
Governor C.L. “Butch” Otter appointed Judge Lorello to the Idaho Court of Appeals in 2017, and she was re-elected in 2018. In addition to her work at the Court of Appeals, Judge Lorello is active in law-related education and civics education for Idaho’s youth. Judge Lorello is also an adjunct professor at the University of Idaho College of Law where she has taught legal writing, legal research, evidence, advanced advocacy, and professional responsibility.
